Best and Worst in Beauty: 2016

Hey guys! Today I'd like to share with you what I thought were the best and worst beauty products of 2016. Before I start, I'd like to give a little disclaimer that comes along with all of these types of posts and/or videos. Just because these products didn't work for me, it doesn't mean they won't work for you. Everyone is different! And íf I mention a product that you love, great! Keep using it, keep loving it. I'm glad it works for you! Anyway, lets move on to the actual products, shall we?

My Favorites of 2016

First up is the Coty Airspun loose facepowder in Translucent. I have the hardest time finding loose powders to bake with that are the right shade, or translucent powders that don't leave behind some form of color cast. I discovered this powder thanks to my amazing Instagram followers {@mandymbeauty} when I asked for some recommendations for a natural feeling powder. This did not dissapoint. The first high point with this product is simply how much powder you get for the low price point. Since Airspun is not yet in stores in my area {at least that I've seen} I bought it on Amazon for €14,95. Which is not a bad price for 65 grams of product. I bought mine at the beginning of June, right around my birthday. I still have almost a full jar, can, box thing. I use it every day and it never seems to run out. I love it! Second, is that even if you use it to bake your face with, it doesn't feel heavy or unnatural. It sits beautifully under my eyes without looking cakey or crepey. I hope I spelled that right? And lastely, Airspun will keep your foundation and concealer in place all day long! There is no down side to this powder, I love it!

Second is another face powder, the Essence All about Matt fixing powder. I love this powder for quite a ew reasons, the main one being that it's a drugstore dupe for M.A.C Prep and Prime compact powder. This powder costs around €3,00 for 8 grams, while the M.A.C powder is ? grams for around €30,00. The M.A.C is my all-time favorite powder, but this is a close second when it comes to compact powders. It does a great job of setting my foundation without looking cakey, and you really can't beat it for the price. Amazing!

I'm just now realizing that most of my favorites are face powders for some reason. I love this powder from P2 because of how fun it is. The first time I put the powder on, right after opening it, I thought it was a normal loose face powder, similar to the Catrice Networks mattifying powder. I put it all over my face before I realized the fine specs of blue-holo glitter everywhere! So no, you can't where this every day, but I think it's really fun to wear as a highlight for a special occasion and the glitter is absolutely gorgeous.

Okay, so turns out that all of my favorites from 2016....let's get in to the stuff we all are here to read about: The WORST of beauty from 2016.

My LEAST favorites of 2016

Before I start this, I want to say that a lot of these products are from one particular brand, and I would normally say don't think I'm bashing this brand whatever, but in this case, I actually am. I have personal issues with this brand as well as professional issues with them, and if anyone reading this is a YouNique presenter, please either leave my blog or keep your opinions to yourself. I don't like the products produced by this company, and the shady business practices that are involved with this company.

First up are these Shine Eye Makeup Remover Cloths from Younique. I just can't these in any way shape or form. They don't remove makeup whatsoever, they leave behind a greasy mess because they're made of more oil than actual cloth. Also, the weirdest thing about them is the leave behind a golden glitter. Uhh, when I take my makeup off, like I'm supposed to do with MAKEUP REMOVER CLOTHS, why would I want golden glitter all over my face? That kind of defeats the purpose doens't it?

Next, also from Younique, is the Moodstruck Addiction shadow palette. This palette could work for you if you enjoy patch, dry matt shadows and powdery shimmer shadows! When I got this palette, I attempted to use Fortright and Zealous for an eye look, and they got so muddy I had to take off all my makeup and start over. There is so much fall-out its ri

diculous. The shimmers can be pretty if you can get them to work, but all together the palette is just a fail. No thank you!

Another product from Younique, I'm starting to feel kind of bad about this but I have to be honest, is the Stiff Upper Lip lip stains. They sent me the small sample sizes when I ordered the 99 dollar presenter kit. Based on just the swatches, they stain my arm pretty well, other than being patchy because the formula is so watery, but the won't stain my lips! Dark and light shades, I can't get a single one to stain my lips. I'm a very pale person and have light colored lips so it really shouldn't be that hard for these so called 'stains' to do their job on me, but the don't. The formula is horrendously watery, and the just aren't worth the price of the full size. SKIP!

And the last product from this brand are the lipglosses. There isn't much of to say about these, other than they're chunky, sticky, and just plain gross. I don't know who would want to wear these colors! Lucky is the color your lips turn when you die...trying to tell us something Younique? Next!

I believe I've talked about this mascara here before, but just in case I haven't, this is the Icona Milano mascara that I received in a Glossy Box. I can't get my eyes anywhere near this mascara or they itch and burn and get all goopy and gross. The first time I wore it the formula was watery and didn't do much for my lashes, so it wasn't much of a loss anyway.

Everyone knows how much I hate these Catrice Matt Lip Artists. I posted about them before, after Catrice hyped them up for months and months, I finally got my hands on them and maybe wore them for 20 minutes before they were smeared all over my chin. Without eating or drinking! I was really dissapointed because the colors are beautiful, especially Bare Nude'S Soul. I'm hoping maybe Catrice will reformulate these or produce something else in these shades. Only time will tell!

And last, but not least, my MOST HATED product of 2016. This Good to Glow Highlighter from Manhattan. I can't believe how terrible this is. You can't wear in under your foundation because your foundation won't stick to your face. You can't put in on top of foundation because it will remove everything it touches. You can't mix it in with foundation because it depleates the coverage of any foundation that it mixes with, and you can't wear it alone unless you want a sticky face without any sort of glow. I can't wait to throw this in the trash! Yuck.
