Hey guys! I'm going to keep this short because there is a lot to cover and I don't want to bore you with a long intro. Beginning in February, Essence is updating their brand with a huge release of new products. We've got everything from face to nail care here; with brand new colors and finishes to suit everyone. Let's get started with the new face products!

So first things first: foundation. Instant Matt foundation that claims to contain powder pigments and mattify your face for up to 18 hours with a light-weight feel. It only comes in three shades, so color matching isn't going to be an easy feat here. I don't think any of these shades will match me, but I guess I'll have to check and see. This is a common problem with this brand, they really need to extend their shade range! Retail cost: 3,99€

Camouflage Full Coverage Concealer: there isn't really much to say about this other than it's supposed to be full-coverage. And again, only two super light shades, giving our dark skin beauties no chance to use this. What a shame. Retail cost: 2,49€.

Luminous Matt Bronzing Powder: Is it me or do the words "matt" and "luminous" not belong in the same sentence? According to the information I received, these bronzers are matt with a shimmering core. So...are they matt or shimmery? I'm already confused. Shade 01 looks a little bit on the red side for me, but 02 looks like with a light hand I could make it work. Retail cost: 2,99€.

All About Matt Fixing Powder Waterproof: I love the original All About Matt powder, so I really hope they didn't mess up the formula. I suppose even if they do, and they don't discontinue the original, I'll be okay. This powder doesn't leave a cast behind, so everyone can use it. Retail cost: 2,99€.

Colour Correcting Stick: These are an awesome addition for a drugstore brand, provided they get the formula right. I desperately need something to cover my rosacea so if these work out, I'm going to be super happy. They have a good range of shades to cover up imperfections, so let's hope for the best! Retail cost: 2,49€.

Color Correcting Liquid Concealer: I suppose if the sticks don't work out we have hope for these liquid concealers! They don't have such a large range, but still decent for dark circles and rosacea. They also have a 'light cooling effect', whatever that means. Let's just hope they don't have an issue mixing with foundation! Retail Price: 2,49€.

BLUSHplay sculpting blush palette: I'm far too pale to even consider contouring with pink shades, but according to this release when used separately these are great for that. When they're mixed the provide a fresh look. They look like a great addition to anyones blush collection, and would be great for travel. Retail price: 3,99€.

2in1 highlight and contour stick: a duo-stick with a cream to powder finish. Again with the lack of diversity in the shades. I'm not a fan of cream highlighters, mostly because I've never found one that didn't remove all the foundation on my cheeks! Only time (and swatches) will tell I suppose. Retail price: 3,99€.

Prismatic Rainbow Glow Highlighter: I'm not really in to this kind of thing, I can't think of a single place I could wear this without looking silly. Also, I'd much rather buy the original from the original creator than a drugstore version, but considering they are constantly sold out maybe I'll give it a try. It is a novelty afterall. Retail price: 3,49€.

Strobing Highlighter Stick: I have a few of these from different brands that I don't particularly like, just because I can't find a way to use them. Under foundation they don't show up, and of course over foundation they remove everything underneath it. I like shade 10, so I might be giving it a try, but if I'm honest I don't have high hopes for it. Retail price: 2,99€.

Cooling and Relaxing Eye Pads: These are tiny, reusable masks for your under eyes. They are supposed to relieve tired eyes and get rid of dark circles. Just put them in the fridge for a few hours and place them on your eyes. I don't see any ingredients, so I'm not sure what is in these that make them good for your eyes, but I guess we'll wait and see! Retail price: 1,99€.

Micellar Water: Now THIS I'm excited about. I currently use the Garnier Skin Active micellar water to remove makeup and clean my skin. I love it, but I have to say if there is a more affordable option out there I'm all for it. It is a small size (50 ml vs. 250 ml Garnier) But if it works, it works. Retail price: 1,99€.

Instant Matt Makeup Setting Spray: formulated with natural ingredients to give you a long-lasting matt finish. I'm very loyal to my M.A.C Fix+ Spray, but I'm always open to alternatives considering I can't visit the M.A.C store very often. (I prefer to shop in person and not online.) I have another fixing spray from P2 that I like, but there is still a space in 'favorite drugstore setting pray' on my list. Retail Price: 2,99€.
